And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy–the Son of God.
It can be a real task today trying to keep Christ the center of Christmas. The atheists throughout our country are bent on removing every display of Jesus along with the entire manger scene. The stress of buying things for everyone and the constant pressure from movies and t.v. shows to push Santa and his reindeer is quite overwhelming. The majority want Christ out and Santa in. They want the manger scene torn down and replaced with Frosty, and they want the flood of commercialism to saturate our time so that we don’t pay much attention to Christ.
Well, it won’t work for me! I like the Christmas tree in the corner of my living room. I like the Christmas cookies (a little too much), and I like my children opening up some presents on Christmas day. But, I refuse to to take Christ out of Christmas. The reason…without Christ I have nothing to be thankful for, I have no reason to celebrate, and I have no purpose for pressing on. Jesus Christ is my life and I will celebrate His coming to earth (His birth) forever in spite of the majority who are trying to remove Him. In my house Christ will remain. How about you? Is Christ the center of your Christmas, your house, your life?
Keep “Christ” in Christmas.
